About
Hi. I’m Wyatt Imus. I am a student at Rice University class of 2020.
I am also the first Rice student to compete in College Rodeo as a tie-down calf roper and team roper.
I am studying in the Sports Management Department. Studying in the school of Social Sciences and majoring in Sport Management will allow me to ultimately compete as a professional rodeo athlete armed with the business skills to market myself, manage finances and promote the sport of rodeo all while making my career a profitable, successful, sustainable business with the ultimate goal of contributing to the growth and appeal of a pretty cool sport starring the international icon the great American Cowboy.
Someone asked, can competing in Rodeo make you a Millionaire? Only if you start out a Billionaire. The truth being, making money as a rodeo athlete is a significant challenge, enjoyed by a surprising few who participate. All rodeo athletes compete as individuals, responsible for all of their own expenses conducting their profession as a self employed entrepreneur. The growth potential for rodeo is unlimited. All of the events in rodeo should be as popular as bull riding has become with the formation of the PBR (the Professional Bull Riders Association) that sells out (for example) Madison Square in New York City on three successive nights each year.
I’m am confident that with the guidance of Rice professors I will develop a plan to promote rodeo and raise it to the level of popularity currently enjoyed by NASCAR and for God’s sake, even soccer in this country. I believe that the work ethic and dedication that led me to a Texas State Title in Calf roping and acceptance to Rice University has prepared me to assist you in any manner you find appropriate.
I look forward to speaking with creating any kind of professional relationship with whomever may be interested. You can reach me anytime at 917-499-4687
Respectfully yours,
Wyatt Imus
